Presenters:

Peter Darrant (@Peterdarrant)

Peter

Peter has an extensive theatre and presenting background having been in the business for over 28 years (he began when he was two – honest!). Starting life as a model (he launched a thousand knitting patterns!) he’s worked in the entertainment industry as a dancer, actor, singer, choreographer and compere; performing all over the UK and overseas. When not on stage you’ll find him behind the scenes working on numerous shows as a producer. He arrived in the North East 20 years ago playing Prince in panto and never left making Tyne & Wear his home.

Apart from producing and presenting The LowDown; Peter runs a busy business consultancy, is a Director in theatre company, comperes events and dinners, works with a number of equality charities and hosts a weekend radio show on Pride Radio. He can also be found throwing ‘dad shapes’ on the dance floor most weekends.

Melissa Crawford (@mel_crawf)

Mel
Mel has a passion for TV, a passion for people, and a great love for the North East. A graduate from Sunderland University and Geordie girl through and through, Mel has took herself across the globe with studies and travelling. Working in TV for the last 3 years, Mel is a strong family girl, kickboxer and pizza fanatic. With a love for fitness, friends, and weekly soap operas.

Will Foxx

Born in the North East, and growing up in Bishop Auckland, Will is our latest addition to The Lowdown team. After studying film, TV and broadcast production through college and university, Will’s experience includes Event Hosting, Radio Presenting and even Sports Presenting. As well as this, Will has worked with the company since before Tyne And Wear’s launch in 2015, climbing through roles such as Production Assistant, VT Editor, Social media Planner, Weather Presenter and Floor Manager.

At home, Will is a huge fan of pugs, sweets and fancy spa breaks! When asked what 3 things he dislikes most, he told us Snakes, Mushrooms and Heights, oh, and people that chew their food loudly! The way to his heart is a bubbly, candle-lit bath, a good English Breakfast, and a good bit of dry humour!
